Gas Vapor Probe Retract-A-Tip

Gas Vapor Probe (GVP) Retract-A-Tips are designed to collect soil vapor samples below the ground surface, as well as shallow groundwater samples. Retract-A-Tips are inserted into the soil and then opened for sample extraction. Sampling locations can be reached with the help of a slide hammer or combination rotary hammer, along with GVP extensions and an extension drive adapter.

Retract-A-Tips are connected to the surface using Fluoropolymer, Nylon, or Polyethylene tubing. Once a Retract-A-Tip is in its desired sampling location, simply retract the drive extension string to open the sampler. This will expose the sampling ports to the sampling area, while still safeguarding them from any soil interference with the help of a mesh screen. The Retract-A-Tip package includes a Barbed Insert, Outer Sleeve, Inner Nut, Bottom Nut, Vapor Inlet Shaft, and a Retract-A-Tip #50 Mesh Screen, all constructed from 300 series stainless steel (SST), while the tip itself is 400 series SST.
